Precipitation is expected to continue throughout the day, with snowfall accumulation most significant near and north of the Route 78 corridor in Pennsylvania and northwest New Jersey, according to the National Weather Service in Philadelphia/Mount Holly. Higher elevations are seeing the heaviest impact, officials said.

Snow and slush-covered roads are creating dangerous travel conditions in these areas, leading to the following school schedule changes:

Closings:

West Milford Public Schools

Delayed Openings:

Hardyston Schools

Jefferson Township Schools

Mahwah Public Schools

Wanaque Public Schools

Drivers in these regions are urged to exercise caution as slushy conditions persist into the afternoon. Precipitation is expected to taper off later this evening and through the overnight hours, the NWS said.
